Cannes, Finland focus: horizon of opportunities 2026.

These event terms and privacy notice, including the FDCA Privacy Policy (FDCA Privacy Policy) and any applicable Code of Conduct (jointly the "Terms"), set out the rules for participating in the Cannes, Finland Focus: Horizon of Opportunities 2026 organized by the Finnish Data Center Association (hereinafter "FDCA").

1. event participation

Finland Focus: Horizon of Opportunities 2026 is a private, invitation-only event organized by FDCA. Attendance is complimentary. Invitations are personal, non-transferable, and may not be reassigned without FDCA's prior written approval.

Registration is required prior to the event. Upon arrival, your registration will be verified and a printed badge issued. Your badge must always remain visible; access will be denied without it.

FDCA reserves the right to modify the programme, schedule, speakers, or venue at any time. As the event is complimentary, no compensation is payable in connection with changes or cancellation.

2. What We Collect

During registration via the Swapcard platform, FDCA collects: your name, email address, job title, company name, country of residence, and dietary requirements or food allergies.

3. Why We Process Your Data

Your data is processed for the following purposes:

Event registration and administration — to confirm and manage your attendance. Legal basis: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Dietary accommodation — to ensure appropriate catering. Legal basis: your explicit consent, given voluntarily by providing this information (Art. 6(1)(a) and Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR). You are not required to provide dietary information and may communicate needs to staff on-site instead.

Event communications — to send you schedule updates and logistical information. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

4. Swapcard(ticketing, registration)

Swapcard is used solely as a registration tool to collect your information. Swapcard acts as a data processor under a Data Processing Agreement (Art. 28 GDPR) and does not use your data for its own purposes. Where data is transferred outside the EEA, transfers are protected by Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR).

5. Who Receives Your Data

Your data is shared only with: Swapcard (registration platform, under DPA); event service providers (badge printing, catering) to the extent strictly necessary and under contractual safeguards. FDCA does not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

6. Retention

FDCA retains your personal data only for as long as it is necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this notice. Once those purposes have been satisfied and no legal obligation requires further storage, FDCA will securely delete or anonymize your data. You may request deletion at any time by contacting the Data Protection Contact above.

7. Your Rights

You may at any time request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting sami.niiranen@fdca.fi. You also have the right to restrict processing, object to processing based on legitimate interest, request data portability, and withdraw consent (without affecting prior processing). FDCA will respond within 30 days. If you believe your data has been mishandled, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman (tietosuoja@om.fi, Helsinki) or the supervisory authority of your country of residence.

8. Photography and Media

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with Finnish law. The English language version of these Terms shall be considered the basis for any interpretation. Any disputes that cannot be resolved amicably shall be settled in the first instance by the Helsinki District Court.

8.1 What We Do

Professional photographers and/or videographers will be present to document the event. FDCA may use resulting materials on its website, social media, newsletters, and promotional communications. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

8.2 Your Right to Opt Out

FDCA respects each attendee's right to control their image.

If you do not wish to appear in any event photography or video, indicate this during registration or inform FDCA staff upon arrival. FDCA will ensure you are excluded from any published materials, including photos, videos, and captions.

8.3 Participant-Generated Content

You are welcome to take your own photos and share them professionally, provided you respect other attendees' privacy and do not photograph materials or sessions marked as confidential.

9. Conduct, Liability, and General

9.1 Expected Conduct

FDCA provides a professional and respectful environment. Participants must comply with applicable laws, venue rules, and behave respectfully toward all attendees and staff. FDCA reserves the right to remove any Participant who violates these Terms, without liability.

9.2 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by Finnish law. Any dispute shall be resolved by the Helsinki District Court.

9.3 Amendments

FDCA may update these Terms prior to the event. Material changes will be communicated via email.
